"I’m Mark Dredge, a 28-year-old guy from Kent, England, and I write about beer.
This beer blog is called Pencil&Spoon. I write about beer, beer and food, beer and travel, beer and people and sometimes I write about wine and whisky or whatever comes into my head.
In December 2009 I won the British Guild of Beer Writers New Media Writer of the Year for this blog. Then in November 2010 I won the award again (renamed Online Communicator of the Year). In 2011 I won Beer and Food Writer of the Year, due in part to sticking a can of Punk IPA up a chicken's arse.
I now write about beer and have been published in beer magazines around the world. I also work with breweries on their communication and marketing. And I've written a book which is being published in April 2013 - Craft Beer World.

The origins of this blog started in food which is why it’s called Pencil&Spoon.
I attached the tagline “beer with my pencil and spoon” because, in six
words, it explained what it was all about and I’ve now grown attached to
it, so it’s stuck, even if that now doesn't cover everything I write
about. The real tagline is 'there's a story at the bottom of this
bottle' which is what makes each beer special and is also a line from
one of my favourite songs (and I've now got it tattooed on my arm)."

Question
Using twitter for this question was always going to get a speedy and short response, but I thought it would be great to get a snappy reaction. Twitter limits what you can say, so Dredge has chosen what to say carefully, he has thought about it.
It is an expectation, the more I study into this topic that design simply supports the taste but for a renowned beer writer it is great that he mentions that appearance is valued.
